Action Replayy may have bombed at the box office despite the all-inclusive promotional campaign. But the latest news has brought immense cheer to director Vipul Shah.

The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (Oscars) has sent an invitation to include the film’s screenplay in its huge collection. Shah, who co-scripted the film with Aatish Kapadia will sending their script to the Margaret Herrick Library for the Academy, a haven for students of cinema and filmmakers for research and study purposes.

The movie which stars Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Aditya Roy Kapoor and tells the story of a guy who goes into the past to change the spiteful marriage of his parents into a love marriage. However, the movie didn’t go well with critics and dunked at the box office.

Shah is extremely proud of the invitation and has lashed out at the critics with the claim that critics in India are far removed from grasping the real content of cinema.
