Shot on a two-schedule timetable, Rajneeti was filmed entirely in Bhopal and the team wrapped it up one day prior to the deadline. The project is now in the post-production stage and there is ample time at hand to make sure that the final product is as flawless as Jha’s previous movies. Produced and directed by Jha, Rajneeti is a multi-starrer and features some of the finest actors in Bollywood. Ajay Devgan and Nana Patekar join forces with Prakash Jha after their successful previous project, Apaharan. The rest of the cast comprises of Naseeruddin Shah, Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor in a role with negative shades, Manoj Bajpai and Katrina Kaif in a never-seen-before avatar. Prakash Jha happens to be one of the two directors responsible for Ajay Devgan’s strong comeback as a major star, the other being Rohit Shetty. Jha-Devgan team has produced two successful realistic movies – Gangaajal and Apaharan. Viewers can expect a far superior movie this time considering the cast and scope. Rajneeti will also mark the transformation of Ranbir Kapoor to an actor who can deal with a role other than that of a lover boy. Ranbir’s character is claimed to be one with negative shades, a career first in the young actor’s track record. The movie is important for Katrina since it’s her first serious role ever and definitely it can either shut her critics up forever or give them more reasons to call her a non-actor. |
