Hrithik has done it. Abhishek has tried to do it. Now Shah Rukh Khan is about to do it. The superhero antics of his competition have prompted SRK to suit up and battle the bad guys as a superhero. Shah Rukh Khan’s latest project titled RA.ONE is a superhero movie of a different genre and the shooting of the big-budget flick will begin in Miami early this year.

SRK plays a software engineer Shekhar, who as a video-game hero battles his self-created techno-monster Ra.One. Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead in the film and the new buzz is that she’ll be appearing on screen as an animated version.

What better way to be in total control of the project than being the producer? SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan is the producer and Anubhav Sinha has been picked up as the director. Anubhav Sinha has the reputation of being a director who can put together stylish looking action movies with Hollywood-esque action sequences. The Hollywood association continues with cinematography by Ueli Steiger (The Maiden Heist) and David Benullo (Shadow Man) as screenwriter. The visual effects for the movie will be created in-house by SRK’s Red chillies SFX.

This one better not be creativity starved like Krrish or discourse-driven like Drona and we would reserve our comments on Shah Rukh Khan’s skills to convincingly fit the shoes of a superhero, till the movie releases. Till then, we are keeping our fingers crossed as always.
