Sylvester Stallone is back and he has got his old friends along this time in what action junkies call the return of the 1980’s. The Expendables is the talk of the town this season primarily due to its star-studded cast consisting of the who’s who from the world where cars blow up, men evade bullets, bombs go off every 60 seconds, guns and fists talk more and at the end of it all, the good guys save the day.

Directed by and starring Stallone, the true-blooded action escapade stars the biggest names in the business of action – Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Steve Austin to name a few. Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger appear in guest roles to complete the picture of the one explosive gang of 1980’s action heroes.

The movie is a tribute to action movies which ruled the box office during the golden era of the genre – the late 80’s and the early 90’s when T-800, John Rambo and John McClane were the names that hauled millions to theatres.

The movie is released in India by Rajat Enterprises, an independent distributor. Speaking on the all-India release of the film, Mr. Ranjan Singh said, “We at Rajat Enterprise are proud to be associated with The Expendables. The film is by far the most awaited Hollywood action film in India this August; we would be releasing the film in more than 400 screens (English & Hindi) all over the country. It is our first offering in India as independent distributors and we hope to bring many such films in the future.”

The movie revolves around a group of mercenaries, led by Stallone, who are hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator (David Zayas).

Once the mission begins, the men realise things aren't quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal.

With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
