Fame comes at a price. Privacy and the consequences of being blindly admired by followers are the heftiest of the prices that a celebrity has to pay at times. Asin has paid her share recently with the inexorable stalking from an obsessive fan named Samuel.

For the past few months, Samuel has been trying to get Asin’s attention by keeping track of her every move. "This person tried getting her phone number from Asin's business manager. When he failed, he pleaded he just wanted to talk," says a source close to the actress.

On failing miserably, the stalker did the unthinkable. He drafted in his mother for the job and surprisingly she agreed. "She started calling Asin's business manager, saying that her son wanted to marry Asin. With time, this too failed. But Samuel didn't give up,” the source added. Apparently Samuel made his mother send an sms to the actress’s manager which read as follows.

"Samuel is critically ill (sic); he spells out your name every time he wakes up. Kindly do us a favour of seeing him one last time before anything happens."

Last heard, the sympathy factor didn’t click with the actress who commented, "If he was a genuine fan he wouldn't harass my staff this way."
