Karan Johar’s latest flick My Name is Khan has made it to the race for the prestigious Academy Award nominations. The film, which is a story of a man suffering from Asperger’s syndrome and his journey to meet the U.S. President managed to win the favour of the viewers with the message of peace, tolerance and mutual co-existence. The film, distributed by FOX Star Entertainment worldwide was one of the most expensive movies of 2010 and also made it to the list of movies eligible to contest for the Oscars. The nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards will be announced on the 25th of January and the ceremony will take place in the Kodak Theatre on the 27th of February. Karan Johar is elated about the movie and said “'MNIK started off as a movement and it's heartening to hear that today it's in the broad list of films eligible to be in the running in all categories. I'm honoured that the film has that kind of acceptance level on a global platform.” |
