After having made India proud with this twin win at the Academy Awards two years back, looks like A. R. Rahman seems to be on the same track again. The 45-year-old music director recently bagged the award for the Best Original Song at the 16th Critics' Choice Movie Award. Rahman won the award for the original song, “If I Rise” for Danny Boyle’s latest film 127 Hours which stars James Franco. The song which is collaboration with English singer, Dido has even won him a Golden Globe nomination. This is Rahman’s second film with Boyle, the first being Slumdog Millionaire which earned him 2 Oscars and a Golden Globe. The Critics' Choice Movie Awards are bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) to honour the finest in cinematic achievement. Held at the Hollywood Palladium, the other winners were The Social Network which won the Best Picture and David Fincher picked up the Best Director honours for the same film. British actor, Colin Firth won the Best Actor for his role in The King’s Speech and Natalie Portman won the award for the Best Actress for her portrayal of a troubled ballerina in Black Swan. |
