Music maestro A.R. Rahman is set to perform for this year’s Oscars on the 27th of February 2011. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be held in the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. The music composer who won two Academy Awards for his composition in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire is nominated again this year for Best Original Score and Best Song in Boyle’s 127 Hours. Rahman will perform the song "If I Rise" with Florence Welch. The original song, in which he collaborated with English singer Dido has already won a lot of praise for its melancholic melody.

Besides Rahman, actress Gwyneth Paltrow will be performing the song “Coming Home” from the film Country Strong. Randy Newman will perform his nominated song “We Belong Together” from the animated film Toy Story 3. Alan Menken who has been nominated for the music in Tangled will also be performing with singers Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.
