The highly successful Hera Pheri team is coming together once more for the third movie in the series. Hera Pheri movies are all about the antics of the three protagonists played by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The first movie was released in 2000 and was directed by Priyadarshan. The director went on to make several other movies with the trio since the camaraderie among the lead actors was incredible. The second film released in 2006 was directed by Neeraj Vora and was a smash hit at the box office. The success of the comedies has prompted producer Firoz Nadiadwala to go in for a third time kill.
The movie is not called Hera Pheri 3. It’s been titled Hera Pheri 4, as it revolves around four main characters. Hera Pheri 4 has a couple of new faces in the team – two in front of and the other behind the camera. None other than Amitabh Bachchan himself will be a part of the cast of Hera Pheri 4. Bachchan will play the role of the fourth character that is as significant as the trio themselves. It’s been a long time since we saw Big B in a comic role and this is a
“fun-tastic” opportunity for him to get back to his rib tickling numbers. Though Big B is yet to give his nod, we have a strong feeling that he will. Anees Bazmee, who directed blockbusters like No Entry, Welcome and Singh is Kinng is at the helm of Hera Pheri 4. Bazmee says, "We are still in the scripting stage. The script is being written keeping Amitabh Bachchan in mind. I still have to narrate the script to him. We both are keen on working with each other. Things yet have to be finalized."
The other new face is the female lead. Since Akshay Kumar is in the cast, we all know who that is. No prizes for guessing – it’s Katrina Kaif. The movie is expected to hit theatres in 2011.
- Little Bird works round the clock flying around in search of Bollywood gossip. We just made her put her hobby to better use. And we know that Bird isn’t her surname.
