Sanjay Leela Bhansali couldn’t have asked for more. His film Guzaarish may not have fared well at the box office, but its script is to be featured in the collection of the library of Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the film tells the story of Ethan, a magician who becomes quadriplegic in an accident and his will power and finally his plea for mercy killing. Promoted under the banner of SLB Films and UTV Motion Pictures, the film starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Though it fizzled at the box office, it got a lot of critical acclaim especially for Hrithik Roshan’s portrayal of the quadriplegic Ethan. An overjoyed Bhansali says, "The movie makes you aware about the beauty of life and what we have and how we should cherish it." And now the Academy agrees with him too.
