Golmaal 3 was one of the most anticipated movies of the year and a sure shot candidate to make it to the list of the highest grossing movies of the year. That’s exactly what it did too. Rohit Shetty’s tried and tested action-comedy formula worked like a charm and there was nothing to stop Golmaal 3’s victory run. The fun gang of Golmaal Returns made a comeback with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kappor and Shreyas Talpade reprising their roles. New faces included Mithun Chakraborty and Kunal Khemu who gelled in with the rest of the cast effortlessly.

Golmaal 3 opened with a first day collection figure of Rs. 830 million (Rs. 8.3 crore) and amassed Rs. 347 million (Rs. 34.7 crore) in its opening weekend. The first week collections stood at Rs. 620 million (Rs. 62 crore) and the movie wound up its box office run with a rock solid Rs. 1.07 billion (Rs. 107 crore) total collections in India. It performed reasonably well in the overseas markets too with the foreign circuit contributing a laudable Rs. 100 million (Rs. 10 crore) in the first week.
