Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor have a lot in common. Both of them have survived two back-to-back flops in Bollywood in the recent past. Imran had a fair debut with the surprise hit Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Naa and followed it up with two action thrillers – Kidnap and Luck – which went up in flames at the box-office. Sonam has a worse career graph to hide. Her debut movie Saawariya and her next venture Delhi-6 flopped and both movies suffered at the hand of the critics too.
The movie opened to strong collections all over India with the multiplexes being the key revenue generators. The three-day opening weekend collection of Rs.220 million has placed winning smiles on the cast and crew of I Hate Luv Storys. The movie collected Rs. 65 million on Friday upon opening and collections improved on Saturday and Sunday much to the joy of the producers and distributors. Made on a modest budget of Rs. 280 million, I Hate Luv Storys is expected to collect Rs. 500 million by the end of its run. The word-of-mouth publicity and positive reviews are solid enough to make that an achievable target.
