Aisha, the Bollywood adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma phased off with Hollywood’s sci-fi bloodbath Predators at the box-office and emerged victorious in the opening weekend.

The romantic comedy appealed to female audiences and lapped up more than Rs 105 million in its opening weekend. Predators, on the other hand was targeted at male audiences who could stand gore and violence and collected above Rs. 50 million upon opening. The distributors, Fox Star Studios India is satisfied with the performance of the movie which stars Adrien Brody who isn’t an international superstar.

Aisha has its share of worry lines as the opening is much lower than expected and Predators has gripped the single screens much better than the Bollywood rival. Though the Sonam Kapoor starrer may end up acquiring more collections in India than the Hollywood movie, Predators is anticipated to be the eventual winner in terms of making profits.
