Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Break Ke Baad may not have posted huge opening figures. But it has managed to net close to Rs. 132 million (Rs. 13.2 crore) in the first five days since release. The movie collected Rs. 105 million (Rs. 10.5 crore) in its opening weekend which is relatively poor to Imran’s previous romantic comedy I Hate Luv Storys which paired him up with Sonam Kapoor. I Hate Luv Storys raked in Rs. 230 million (Rs. 23 crore) in its opening weekend, which is close to twice of what Break Ke Baad managed to acquire. On the other hand, Break Ke Baad has drawn in better collections in the overseas circuit compared to I Hate Luv Storys. In the US, the movie has found a good number of takers, thanks to the new clan of fans that Imran and Deepika has in Uncle Sam’s land. The Middle East has also contributed to favourable numbers. The producers have claimed that they have made a neat share of profit from the sale of satellite, music and video rights. The moderate budget of Break Ke Baad has helped the makers in sailing off to safer shores despite the average response from the public.
