Abhishek Bachchan is gently fading away from the image of Bollywood’s A-list actors. Raavan tanked and now his trump card has given up on him as well. Ashutosh Gowarikar’s patriotic drama Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sei was hailed as one of the most anticipated movies of the year.  With Deepika Padukone as the female lead the movie was also being relied up on by Gowarikar to get over the nightmare that was What’s Your Raashee?

That wasn’t what the box-office had in mind as Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sei met with one of the worst opening weekend collections of the year. Attendance was as low as 10-20 percent and the multiplex crowd who usually came to the rescue was nowhere in sight. Collecting an estimated Rs. 350 million (Rs. 3.5 crore), there is nothing much that the makers can hope for to see the movie reach the status of an average earner. The cancellation of shows which is a rare phenomenon in the case of big budget movies, isn’t helping the movie at all and will undoubtedly accelerate its fall.
