Tees Maar Khan nets Rs. 127.5 million on opening day PDF Print E-mail

Collecting a whopping Rs. 127.5 million (Rs. 12.75 crore) on its first day, Tees Maar Khan secured the third position in the list of opening day top earners. Farah Khan’s comic-caper starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif was expected to topple the records set by Dabangg which had collected all of Rs 145 million (Rs. 14.5 crore) on its opening day. However, it ended up on the third spot right behind 3 Idiots which had an opening day collections of Rs. 130 million (Rs. 13 crore).

Tees Maar Khan has to be supremely good in terms of word-of-mouth publicity in order to beat Dabangg and 3 Idiots’ opening weekend records of Rs. 485 million (Rs. 48.5 crore) and Rs. 400 million (Rs. 40 crore) respectively. The poor reviews haven’t been helping much and the marketing team may have to work overtime to break the records set by the leaderboard toppers.
