Patiala House posts the lowest opening in Akshay Kumar’s career

The year 2010 was more of losses than of gains to Akshay Kumar. Housefull was a hit, Tees Maar Khan wasn’t the blockbuster that its makers wanted to be, Khatta Meetha was a flop and Action Replayy was a disaster. Box-office failures seem to have followed Akshay Kumar to 2011 with Patiala House collecting the lowest opening weekend collections in his career. The cricket-themed movie directed by Nikhil Advani earned Rs. 157.5 million (Rs. 15.75 crore) in its opening weekend, which is worse than that of Action Replayy. The latter had an opening weekend gross of Rs. 167.5 million (Rs. 16.75 crore).
