Anand L. Rai’s matrimonial comedy Tanu Wedu Manu seems to be holding its stead in the box office even amidst the World Cup rave. The ICC World Cup has reduced the moviegoers but Tanu Weds Manu doesn’t seem to be affected much. The film starring Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan have struck a chord with the audience. The film showed a business of Rs. 32 million (Rs. 3.2 crore) on Friday. The collections however picked up and reached Rs. 41.5 million (Rs. 4.15 crore) on Saturday, but fell down on Sunday to Rs. 37 million (Rs. 3.7 crore), possibly owing to the India-England match in Bangalore. The first weekend figure of the film stands at approx Rs. 110 million (Rs. 11 crore). However, the much hyped 7 Khoon Maaf has shown a decline with the film’s collections falling by 80 percent after the first week collection of Rs. 150 million (Rs. 15 crore).
