All of a sudden she became a style icon and just when she felt that attention was gradually being lost, she took her top off for Vogue magazine’s January 2011 issue. Of course, it was an aesthetically shot image. But as always, there are a bunch of pseudo-moral policing entities that went berserk. Mandira was quick to make her point clear. “It’s 1 picture.. 1 of many. And not a cover.. on the inside pages. Honestly, it sounds dodgier than it is,” she posted on her Twitter page. Responding to a fan comment, Mandira added: “I can't seem to understand the hullaballoo either. Its deeply troubling. :/” One Punjabi fan was so much infuriated with Mandira’s antic that he posted: “Aaj tu ne sikkho ka sar sharm se jhuka diya..zara bhi laaj sharam nahi aayi topless pose dete huwe? #shame” (You have shamed the Sikh community with the topless pic). To which Mandira replied: “Sorry. If it offended u. Not the intention.” |
